It’s been six weeks since I started my journey of eating clean and training with purpose. This post is mostly about my new approach—what I’ve learned, how I’ve changed, and how hiring experts finally got me real results. (I'll save the diet side—meal prep, cooking, and nutrition tips—for a separate post.)
Before I committed to this transformation, I treated diet and exercise as two totally separate things. Nutrition was for losing fat; workouts were for building muscle. I knew deep down they needed to work together, but my actions never aligned. Even when I planned both meals and workouts, I somehow ended up treating them as isolated tasks.
Each week, I laid out detailed plans: what to eat, when to work out, how to stay consistent. I had everything lined up—until I didn’t. I’d fall off course midweek, again and again. I’d ask myself, “Why can’t I stick to my own plan?”
Here’s what I discovered: motivation fades—fast.
You might start your week fired up. You’re committed. You’ve got goals. But then life happens:
No one’s there to stop you. No one’s reminding you to eat that prepped meal or hit the gym. And suddenly, your well-planned week turns into another missed opportunity.
That’s when I started asking a different question: “How fast can I bounce back when I fall off track?”
I realized I didn’t need more motivation. I needed an actor—someone who jumps in when I veer off course and says,
“Hey, you’re drifting. Let’s get back on plan.”
This “actor” also amplifies motivation. Like a performance enhancer for your mindset. When motivation lingers in your mind longer, your brain keeps nudging you toward better decisions. You’re more likely to eat right, train hard, and stay the course.
They’re not fictional. They’re real-life professionals:
Personal trainers, dieticians, nutritionists, coaches.
These are people who’ve studied the science, trained countless individuals, and know how to guide you based on where you are and where you want to be.
They don’t just tell you what to do—they tailor their advice to your life. They ask the right questions, challenge your excuses, and remind you why you started.
Just a heads-up: not all experts are created equal. Stick with the real ones—the ones who have results, credentials, and a passion for what they do. Be careful of the fraudsters. Your progress deserves the best.
At first, I only worked with a personal trainer. It helped with weight training, sure—but the results were average and didn’t reflect the effort I was putting in.
That’s when I hired a dietician.
Now, I speak with her every week. She crafts personalized meal plans and keeps me accountable. I also have regular conversations with my trainer—3 to 4 times a week—where we sync up on workouts and nutrition. I share updates from my dietician so everything works in tandem.
This combination has been game-changing.
For the first time, I’m not guessing. I’m not relying on fading willpower. I’m guided, focused, and fully aligned. I’ve gone from a one-dimensional approach to a multi-dimensional strategy—and the results are showing.
If you’re like me—motivated but struggling to stay consistent, driven but not seeing the results you want—stop doing it alone. Hire experts. They’ll help you align your actions with your goals, optimize your time, and finally start seeing progress you can be proud of.
I’ll dive deeper into how to find the right experts and how to work with them in a future blog.
If this helped you or resonated in any way, leave a comment or like the post. I’d love to hear about your game plan, too.
Let’s get after it. 💪
